In this study, we perform a comparative LCA of PV electricity generation in Singapore by various p-type multicrystalline silicon (multi-Si) PV technologies, which is forecasted to maintain their dominance (~50%) in the PV market in the next 10 years .
Monocrystalline PV system's configurations outperformed other technologies in terms of efficiency (12.8%), performance ratio (80.5%) and specific yield per unit area (267 kWh/m 2). Accordingly, it is well-placed for sunny climates with moderate temperatures. Polycrystalline systems showed a lower performance in comparison to Monocrystalline.
The output of the PV system is assessed under operating conditions typical of Malaysia. The experimental findings indicate that the average efficiency of the PV panel is approximately 10.11%, while that of the inverter is about 95.15%.
The current versus voltage, power versus voltage characteristics of monocrystalline PV module at 46C temperature and intensity of solar radiation of 720 W/m^2 with open circuit voltage of (Voc) = 18.2V and short circuit current of (Isc) = .66A is shown in the figure 2.
